What we can do for you

Cost Savings and Flexibility, are the biggest advantages of using VoIP phone lines over traditional analog or digital lines.

eGuest provides VoIP (SIP) trunks offering such features as unlimited North American calling, competitive international rates, local, remote and toll free numbers as well as E911 and failover options, all at a much lower price than regular phone lines. Businesses typically save 20% to 40% per month by using SIP trunks without any long term contracts.

Depending on the nature of your business, a 3 to 1 ratio of staff to lines is recommended.

Through our partnership with Shaw Communications, we can arrange analog or PRI lines at competitive prices.

More Information

There are three methods of connecting your business to the rest of the regular phone network (PSTN) - Analog, PRI (digital) and SIP (VoIP)

Plain old telephone service (POTS) is the voice-grade telephone service that remains the basic form of residential and small business service connection to the telephone network in most parts of the world. The line is tied to a physical location and you can have a maximum of 1 call per line. Typically businesses will have multiple physical lines setup in a rotary hunt group to allow for simultaneous calls. Direct numbers are not possible with POTS lines and a physical device is needed to interface your phone system to the analog lines.

PRI (digital)

The Primary Rate Interface (PRI) is a standardized telecommunications service for carrying multiple voice transmissions over a physical ISDN line. Standard PRI can carry from 1 to 23 lines (or channels) per circuit, with 8 channels being the usual minimum. However multiple PRI circuits can be combined to provide additional capacity. PRI is tied to a single physical location but provides for direct numbers, control of caller ID and more flexibility for expansion. A physical device is required to interface to a PRI circuit and service is normally provided on a multi-year contract basis.

The Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) is a signaling protocol, used for controlling multimedia communication sessions such as voice and video calls over Internet Protocol (IP). SIP lines are not tied to a physical location but arrive over a dedicated or shared internet connection and offer great flexibility in redundancy and failover situations. There are no minimum line requirements and the maximum number of lines are only limited by your internet bandwidth. Direct numbers, either local or for different cities can be provided allowing for a "presence" in another location. No physical device is needed to interface to these SIP trunks thereby providing further cost savings.

These are the lines of the future.
